Maitland City Council is developing concept designs for three new community facilities to be built within the Eastern Precinct of the Maitland Local Government Area.
The new facilities will be located in Tenambit, on the site of the existing community hall, in Thornton, on the site of the Pat Hughes Community Centre and Thornton Library, and the third will be in Chisholm on Heritage Drive.
The facilities will cater for the growing population in these areas and provide updated, multi-purpose facilities that meet the needs of each community. The Thornton facility will include a new library in addition to a multi-function community space.
As part of developing the concept designs, Council wants to better understand what facilities, services and functions the community would like to see in these spaces.
